You and me as life goes on! is a free training and support program for caregivers who are providing support to a senior living with Alzheimer’s disease or another neurocognitive disorder in residential care. The program is taken entirely online, can be accessed 24 hours a day, and allows caregivers to complete weekly sessions at their convenience, in the comfort of their home.

The main aim of the program is to help caregivers adjust more easily to the many changes that can occur when their loved one moves into a residential setting. This adjustment period is crucial, because it allows them to take better care of themselves so that the next steps in the journey will be more pleasant and easier.

The program lasts eight consecutive weeks. Each participant is asked to spend 60 to 90 minutes each week learning about the week’s theme, reading short texts, and completing written exercises to absorb the concepts learned. The sessions can be completed in a series of several short periods, depending on the caregiver’s availability during the week. A coach provides support and personalized feedback on the exercises completed, answers questions and provides additional information related to the caregiver’s specific situation. A telephone session with the coach is also offered to the caregiver during the program.
