The You and Me as Life Goes On! program was designed to provide tools to caregivers supporting an elderly person living with Alzheimer’s disease or another neurocognitive disorder who has entered a residential care facility. It is designed to help caregivers adjust to the changes brought about by this new living environment.

What is the You and Me as Life Goes On! program?

Participants take You and Me as Life Goes On! on a secure web platform over a period of 8 consecutive weeks, with a weekly session lasting 60 to 90 minutes. Participants can break the sessions down into a series of shorter periods, depending on their availability. Each caregiver receives support from a caregiver coach from l'Appui pour les proches aidants. The coach has professional experience supporting caregivers of elderly people living with Alzheimer’s disease or another neurocognitive disorder. The coach is there to help the participant understand and apply the proposed tools, offers her support, and answers the caregiver’s questions on situations related to the weekly themes.
