The You and Me as Life Goes On! program is a web-based adaptation of Taking Care of Myself, a program developed by the team led by Dr. Véronique Dubé, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at Université de Montréal. Dr. Dubé holds the Marguerite-d’Youville Research Chair on Humanistic Nursing Interventions and is a researcher at the Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CRCHUM). The program is part of a research project being conducted with clients of l’Appui pour les proches aidants, a support program for caregivers.

The Taking Care of Myself program was initially developed for groups meeting face-to-face by Dr. Francine Ducharme and her team. At that time, Dr. Ducharme held the Chaire Desjardins en soins infirmiers à la personne âgée et à la famille in the Faculty of Nursing at Université de Montréal and was a researcher at the Research Centre of the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal. This program has been the subject of studies that have underscored its positive results for caregivers.

We would like to thank Dr. Ducharme for her permission to adapt and modify the Taking Care of Myself program to offer the web-based program entitled You and Me as Life Goes On!
